FIRST AID/CPR/AED CERTIFICATIONS
CERTIFICATIONS
The first aid/CPR/AED courses teach participants to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies. The adult & pediatric course certifies participants to help victims of any age - adults (about 12 years and older) and pediatric (infants and children up to 12 years of age). The adult course certifies participants to help victims 12 years of age and older. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Red Cross certification valid for 2 years.

If the registration deadline has passed for the online & classroom courses, email recoffice@uwlax.edu to see if there is space. See below for the online prerequisite.
COURSE FORMAT
Online & Classroom (Blended Learning)
Blended learning courses include an online portion and an instructor-led classroom hands-on skill session. The online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-class portion and must be taken on a PC or tablet with a high-speed Internet connection. Once registered, materials for the online portion will be sent via email from recoffice@uwlax.edu within 1-3 business days. Allow up to approximately 3.5 hours total to complete the online portion. Classes are held in the REC Conditioning Room; maximum class capacity is 24 participants.
