Each year, students are employed to officiate contests in a variety of intramural activities. Officials are required to attend training clinics specific to each activity and anyone classifying as a "new" official must attend a New Officials Meeting which will cover the employment process/paperwork and provide an overview of the Intramural Sports program.
Officials are classified as "new" if they have never worked on-campus before or if it has been more than 1 calendar year since their last date of employment with Rec Sports.
In order to work, you must have approved documents submitted to the Office of Human Resources. Please be advised copies are NOT accepted; HR must see your ACTUAL document(s)- bring them to campus with you to expedite the hiring process.
Intramural Sports employs contest scorekeepers for specific activities. Scorekeepers are primarily hired via an appointment through the Federal Work Study program and UWL Financial Aid Office.
To inquire about scorekeeping opportunities, please contact intramurals@uwlax.edu.
If you are an employee assigned to Rec Sports through Work Study, please look for an email from Jeff Keenan, Director, for details regarding an introductory meeting.
Scorekeeping activities for 2022-2023 include:
1st Quarter: 3v3 Basketball, Flag Football
2nd Quarter: 5v5 Basketball
3rd Quarter: 5v5 Basketball
4th Quarter: Softball
It is preferred that scorekeepers work the entire academic year.
