Sport Club Program Overview

The UWL Sport Clubs Organization is the largest student run organization at UWL with over 685 student members in 22 clubs. Sport Clubs offer students an opportunity to participate in a variety of activities. Club logistics, rosters, waivers, scheduling contests or practices, organizing travel, preparing and presenting budgets, and representing the club on and off the campus are the responsibilities of elected student officers of each club. Assistance is always available, if desired, through the Sport Club Office. Due to affiliated league restrictions, certain club rosters are limited and require tryouts.

Clubs hosted 40 home competitions and traveled to 92 competitions traveling46,269 miles to represent UWL during the 19/20 academic yea. Collectively, the clubs competed in 92 away contests including representation of seven clubs at their sport or leagues highest competition level (national tournament for many). Seven clubs qualified at their sport or leagues state or regional competition level!

Sport Club Freeze

During  the 2016-17 academic year, the Sport Club program placed a freeze on any additions to the program due to financial and space availability. This freeze was placed on the program until the 2019-20 academic year. In Spring 2020 the Sport Club voted to end the freeze and allow application to join the Sport Club Program. We are currently developing our application process for new sport clubs and will launch this in Spring 20201. If you have any additional questions, please contact the Coordinator of Competitive Sports. Thank you for your interest in our program.
